The application period is now closed. Please sign up for our Hot Jobs Newsletter to be notified about future opportunities

The program, which is designed to foster training and education for job candidates in the security and legal technology industries, is in its eighth year of operation and has awarded over 120 scholarships, totaling more than $150K in free education and certification. This year, there are nine participating institutions and 50 full scholarships! Finalists are anonymously determined by a rotating Advisory Board of thought leaders and industry hiring managers.

If you are an educational institution wishing to partner with TRU to provide scholarships, please Contact Us.

The application period has been extended to March 11, 2019. The application is designed to get to know you better, including your work history, your job goals, and your abilities. We recommend reviewing the application before beginning, as you will not be able to save and return to your application. Here's what you'll need before you start:

  • A recent version of your resume that you will be asked to upload
  • Name, phone number, and email of one industry reference

Additionally, there is one essay question that is the most important question on the application. You may find it helpful to write out your answer to this essay question ahead of time and paste it into the web application, as your writing skills and thoughtfulness in the essay will be judged. The question is:

  • Please tell us, in your own words, how receiving a scholarship will help your career. Discuss your motivation for entering or delving deeper into the cybersecurity, e-discovery, or privacy industries.

The 2019 program features a wide range of educational options, from mobile forensic collection, legal data analytics, project management, processing of litigation data, cyberincident response and remediation, back-end infrastructure and application domain expertise, SOC optimization skills, blockchain programming and business leadership, and technical attorney review expertise--a fit for every applicant! You will be asked to rank your interest in each program from first to last, so take some time to familiarize yourself with the offerings. Below, you’ll find information on our partners and the scholarships they are providing.
