TRU Staffing Partners’ Katie Adler to Speak at Women in E-Discovery Event in London

TRU Staffing Partners, an award-winning search firm representing talent and opportunities in cybersecurity, e-discovery, and privacy, today announces that Manager of Recruitment and Account Management Katie Adler will speak at the Women in e-Discovery’s (WiE) London chapter event on March 4, 2020.

Adler will be joined by Joyce Hung, Director of Human Resources at Global Relay Communications, Kelly Loydon, Senior Manager at SSQ Interim Solutions, and Megan Phelps, International People and Talent Partner at Clear Channel for a panel discussion titled “Legal Tech Recruitment - 2020 Trends.”

Panelists from the legal and tech industries will be covering topics such as “unconscious bias in the hiring process” and “how negotiations play out between recruiters and managers,” and will be providing practical advice such as “getting and acing an interview – tips and tricks” to “finding the perfect candidate.”

“This is going to be a great opportunity for both job seekers and hiring managers to gain perspective on the hiring process and how to best represent yourself or employer brand in the job market,” states Adler. “And the event is more than just a panel—there will be time for networking and community building both before and after the discussion.”

The event will take place at Global Relay UK Ltd., 45 Cannon Street, London EC4M 5SB, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM GMT and is open to WiE members and non-members alike. WiE encourages men in e-discovery to attend as well. Information about the event can be found HERE, and attendees can register HERE.

TRU Tips

An online job ad receives about 250 resumes on average. From these 250 applications, about 2% receive interviews.

Top 3 Reasons A Staffing Agency Is Preferable To Self-Submission
  • 98% of Fortune 500 companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), which often weed out 75% of applications before they reach human eyes, sometimes for irrelevant reasons like the way your resume is formatted.
  • As many as 50% of jobs are filled internally before even making it to the public eye. Some of these jobs are posted online to fulfill legal requirements, but an external candidate has little chance of landing the role.
  • Referrals have a 50% shot of getting an interview whereas for non-referrals, that drops to just 3%. In fact, 40% of hires come from the referral pool, which is only 7% of applicants.
