TRU Tips

LinkedIn profiles that have a picture are 11 times more likely to be viewed. Make sure you use a professional photograph as hiring managers may judge your polish and professionalism from your LinkedIn picture.

Top 3 Tips For Using Your Activity Feature On LinkedIn
  • Everything you “like” gets seen on your LinkedIn home page. When someone visits your profile, they can see what you have liked or commented on and may judge you based on that activity in the same way they judge you on your credentials.
  • Everyone in your network gets your likes and comments defaulted into their LinkedIn feed, unless they choose otherwise. Often, if you form habits of liking things that are not relevant or are more personal than professional, people may unfollow you so these posts no longer appear (or clutter) their feed.
  • Mixing personal and professional visibility on LinkedIn can be powerful for getting lots of attention, but is potentially damaging in establishing your personal brand. If you are looking to have lots of people comment on or like your post, that's fine, but remember that quantity doesn’t mean quality and some people take the unspoken covenant that LinkedIn should be for professional use only very seriously.

About 50% of roles filled by TRU in June 2020 were jobs that had been active prior to COVID.

TOP 3 Job Market Takeaways From Q2 2020
  • For most alternative legal service providers, the bottom was felt in April and May with all-time lows in net new hires.
  • The privacy job market is coming back strong, but corporations are rethinking and retooling their leadership roles/responsibilities rather than hiring/scaling their middle management staff.
  • ESI companies and law firms are running lean on talent despite rising billables. ESI mid-market staffing remains flat (on hold mostly) for project managers and analysts.
