Our client, a top New York-based law firm, is looking for a Litigation Support Specialist to join their team. In this role, the Specialist will work closely with the team on case technology strategy and tasks to be completed such as loading, processing and verifying data; will build, configure and maintain e-discovery databases and assist legal teams in review process by using, creating and running searches. The ideal candidate should be a solutions-driven individual who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, possessing broad knowledge of the litigation lifecycle.   • Works in a team setting and receives direction from the Litigation Support Manager, and legal staff on case technology strategy and tasks to be completed.
  • Advising on e-discovery processes and protocols, including communicating with Client Technology/Litigation Support representatives of clients.
  • Works with attorneys, clients and vendors to facilitate data exchanges using various forms of media
  • Liaising with other team members to ensure that correct solutions and processes are implemented at a cost effective level and work is delivered on time. Reporting on the progress of assigned tasks in a concise and timely way.
  • Loads, processes and verifies electronically stored information (ESI) to Relativity platform
  • Builds, configures, and maintains all Relativity databases; creates user accounts, sets up security access profiles, creates review layouts, manipulates data, runs productions, performs QC checks, and other Relativity database related tasks
  • Assists legal teams in the review process, by using, creating and running searches and utilizing advanced software features in Relativity.
  • Strong emphasis on quality control checking of all work, including data from vendors and third parties.
  • Ensuring tasks undertaken are carried out professionally and adhere to the project guidelines (where relevant).
  • Maintaining the integrity of client and firm data, including evidence handling, processing and data tracking through appropriate documentation.
  • Assists in maintaining all utilities, environments, and shares used to store and manage client data.
  • Follows and ensures that departmental best practices and policies are adhered to; displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree (B.S. /B.A.)
  • Must have significant experience in e-discovery or litigation support in a law firm or with an e-discovery/Litigation Support provider/vendor.
  • Proficient in the use of the following e-discovery document review platforms (both processing and review) Relativity, iPro, TimeMap, and, TextMap
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products and text editor tools, as well as spreadsheet and data manipulation.
  • Ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required to resolve complex issues using technology; able to work comfortably with quantitative data analysis, including Excel
  • Able to work in a high pressure environment, and manage multiple priorities; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to QC the work of colleagues. Proven organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to dealing with multiple projects to very strict deadlines and prioritize work. Dealing confidently and concisely with internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work overtime (evenings and weekends)
