e-Discovery Project Manager (LAW FIRM)

Our client, a top Am Law firm, is looking for an e-Discovery Project Manager to join their team. In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for daily coordination and managing of the litigation support and legal technology needs of case teams and clients across multiple managers. Ideal candidate will be client-facing and consultative with strong experience in Relativity. Those with RelativityOne experience will move to the top of the list for consideration. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promotes the use of technology in the practice of law
  • Provides professional and courteous customer service at all times
  • Effectively communicates knowledge of the process, cost and time related to electronic discovery
  • Meets with case teams and/or clients and vendors to plan and design technology needs for each matter
  • Prepares cost and time estimates and case-related budgets, if necessary
  • Advises and consults on best practices relating to the preservation, collection, processing review and production of electronically stored information (ESI) in discovery
  • Designs and maintains all aspects of litigation support databases in consultation with case teams
  • Assists with troubleshooting and resolves application and system-related issues, performs application testing, and assists with system maintenance and data management
  • Provides technical support and training to attorneys and paralegals and assists with developing training materials
  • Intakes, logs and tracks all media, data, client ESI or paper documents received
  • Processes, loads, OCR, and indexes ESI and paper documents in discovery
  • Reviews and quality checks processed ESI and data and images loaded to databases
  • Coordinates, tracks and reports status on in-house and outsourced projects
  • Provides support and database monitoring to case teams during document review
  • Creates document productions and performs production quality checks
  • Provides support to case teams in preparation for and during hearings, arbitration's and trial
  • Maintains a case file for each matter per established department best practices
  • Timely reviews, verifies and submits invoices for payment
  • Properly enters time into firm’s billing system on a weekly basis
  • Provides case status updates to department manager as requested
  • Performs other assignments as required
  • Protects the firm and its clients by maintaining strict confidentiality

Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree and training or certification in project management
  • Advanced use of litigation support and electronic discovery applications, including but not limited to RelativityOne, Relativity On-Prem (version 10), TextMap, LiveNote and Sanction. Ability to use MS Access, SQL, scripting languages, batch files and other data, image and file manipulation tools and utilities
  • RCA certification is preferred
  • Experience with or advance knowledge of Data Analytics or TAR is preferred. Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of file storage and network systems is preferred
  • The project manager must have law firm experience and a thorough knowledge of the litigation process, although significant experience servicing law firms at a service provider or working within a corporate legal department may also be considered
