Our client, a global leader in entertainment, is growing its industry-leading privacy team! The team is adding a Senior Manager to the group, to participate in operational rollout of privacy initiatives enterprise-wide, creating and implementing scalable practices for the business. This role works very closely with product teams, legal counsel, and other key stakeholders on high-visibility consumer-driven projects. Candidates should possess a strong breadth of not only privacy skills but, equally importantly, strong project management prowess, and they must be able to plan and execute projects with complex privacy data and far-reaching implications. Job Summary:
  • The Privacy Compliance Operations and Projects team is a group of privacy professionals who work alongside lawyers to deliver key projects, as well as drive privacy compliance across the enterprise.
  • The Senior Manager, Privacy Operations has knowledge of privacy and data compliance issues and works collaboratively with lawyers and business stakeholders to manage privacy operations, deliver practical advice, enable projects, and implement privacy by design across the company businesses.
  • The Senior Manager, Privacy Operations will report to the Director, Global Privacy Operations and will lead day to day execution of core operations processes for U.S. markets, while refining certain core processes in line with global harmonization goals. It is also expected that this person will manage and coach more junior team members assigned to these processes, and scale staffing levels as needed in line with operational volumes.
  • The role will provide input to technical requirements for development teams working on our core privacy platforms and participate in projects requiring privacy operations representation in the U.S.
  • Applicants to this role should expect to work on high-visibility, consumer-facing projects, and work with many of the program’s key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Processing of individual rights requests (IRRs), Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) Updates, Metrics, External-facing Privacy Inbox, Process Harmonization, Privacy Tech Partnering/Requirements
  • Mentors team responsible for processing data subject requests and provides oversight of workflows to ensure request fulfillment is handled in a quality manner and according to SLAs
  • Use a metrics-based approach to ensuring day-to-day SLA compliance, and to enable regular performance monitoring and trend analysis across the company’s global program (e.g. monthly IRR reports)
  • Assists product teams and lawyers with completing Article 30 assessments, data transfer inventory assessments, and other privacy assessments
  • Understands data types and data flows across the business and how these relate to policy and regulatory requirements
  • Translates legal requirements into solution specifications and partners with Privacy Technology teams to manage changes to core privacy solutions including consent, notice, and IRR experiences
  • Manages inquiries coming into external-facing privacy inboxes, working closely with counsel or other stakeholders to resolve the most complex escalations
  • Drives harmonization of key privacy processes across territories and brands (i.e. IRR process, ROPA update process, Metrics instrumentation)
  • Works closely with counsel to coordinate any needed operations support on contracts remediations
  • Ensures brand support teams receives any needed training to support brands and specialized data teams in implementing privacy requirements
Qualifications:
  • Some experience in a privacy operations/data protection related field
  • Experience leading operational teams
  • Bonus points for: Consulting/Project experience, Customer Service experience, legal operations experience, compliance operations experience
  • Entertainment industry experience a plus
  • BA/BS degree in relevant field
  • IAPP Certification a plus
  • Highly organized approach to work
  • Global privacy knowledge, including GDPR and CCPA
  • Technology savvy and capable of issue spotting privacy problems
  • Strong analytical skills; able to understand and problem solve for complex issues
  • Privacy knowledge and/or willingness and enthusiasm to dig into privacy issues
  • Ability to clearly communicate between lawyers and technology teams
  • Experienced in documenting and implementing procedures, controls, and guidelines
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Experienced with OneTrust use and configuration
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail at all times, even with the most routine tasks
