Automation Engineer (LAW FIRM)

Our client, a global law firm with cachet, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their expanding team. The Automation Engineer will play a critical role in supporting enterprise-wide automation initiatives and will be responsible for developing new automation efforts, enhancing existing automations and maintaining accurate automation documentation. The Automation Engineer will coordinate with other support personnel to investigate automation incidents, assess root causes, prioritize, and implement fixes. The Automation Engineer will work closely with the Information Technology team and will report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering. Candidates will have the following responsibilities:
  • Work with stakeholders to identify new automation opportunities across the enterprise and develop proof of concepts for review and approval
  • Develop new automation solutions and enhancement to existing automations following the Automation Lifecycle
  • Design UiPath process solutions in accordance with standard UiPath design principles and conventions
  • Problem solve issues that arise in day to day running of UiPath processes and provide timely responses and solutions
  • Develop fixes to incidents
  • Serve as primary support person for all RPA based automation efforts across the enterprise
  • Expert level knowledge in UiPath software including Orchestrator
  • Update automation run books with incidents experienced and how resolved
  • Work with Functional Analysts and other Developers to understand existing automation solutions
  • Work with Functional Analysts to understand automation requirements
  • Interface with business SMEs and stakeholders to validate requirements and automation performance
  • Configure new UiPath processes and objects using core workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable, and easy to understand
  • Create test automation scripts using UiPath to support enterprise quality assurance initiatives
  • Create and maintaining solution documentation (e.g. PDD, SDD, test plans/results, Run Book, User Guide)
  • Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process
  • Support Operational Teams during the UAT
  • Successful candidates have strong technical and non-technical communication skills; oral and written communication is well organized, clear, accurate, grammatically correct, and adapted for the target audience 
  • Successful candidates are dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers and achieve results despite a large workload
  • Successful candidates show a sense of urgency, take initiative, and overcome roadblocks
  • Candidates must be able to anticipate future consequences and trends and have a broad knowledge and perspective
  • Candidates should be thought leaders on technical issues, stay ahead of technical developments in field, and know what new technologies will help the business
  • Preferred candidates understand workflow-based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution
  • Candidates should have experience with developing software requirements and managing projects through Agile Process, experience with process improvement and optimization of IT projects, and an aptitude for problem solving with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error
  • Preferred candidates have a B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Systems, or equivalent formal training, and experience in an IT related role supporting development and implementation and work experience with UiPath and automation implementations using RPA tools
  • UiPath Certified RPA Associate certification and legal industry knowledge preferred
