CONTRACT e-Discovery Project Manager (LAW FIRM)

Our client, a major national law firm with a thriving e-discovery program, is adding a Project Manager to its sophisticated, growing team. The successful Project Manager will have strong experience as a client or attorney-facing project manager overseeing projects in Relativity. Working with a team of managers and analysts, this position is for a self-starter who can work independently and toggle between multiple cases in both a technical and advisory capacity. This is a long-term contract role, possibly contract-to-hire for the right candidate. Candidates should be comfortable working remotely. Send resumes to [email protected].

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and manages all e-discovery activities associated with assigned matters, serving as the primary case team and client liaison
  • Conducts intake meetings with case teams to determine requirements, schedules, budget concerns, and deliverables
  • Collaborates with case teams to develop eDiscovery service budget estimates and advises on issues affecting costs and timelines
  • Provides strategic advice and tactical support for the following: 
    • Data preservation; 
    • Data collection, including forensically sound methodologies; 
    • Data processing and culling, including collaborating with case teams on the application of analytical tools and techniques to remove non-relevant material;
    • Document hosting and review, including database design and the strategic use of analytics to increase efficiency: concept searching/clustering, email threading, near duplicate detection, TAR, etc.;
    • Document production, including quality control checks and compliance with negotiated specifications
  • Works collaboratively with other team members and to meet all project goals
  • Performs quality testing of data deliverables, sent and received, including analysis of database load files, fielded data, images and compliance with specifications
  • Manages all vendor services (if necessary), quality tests deliverables and monitors negotiated schedules and budgets
  • Conducts in-house, technical data management activities such as data processing, error analysis and resolution, data manipulation, loading data into database applications, building production subsets, and other database maintenance and administration
  • Troubleshoots e-discovery applications and databases if necessary
  • Maintains defensible records of case work and provides operational briefings to department management
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned
