e-Discovery Project Manager (LAW FIRM)

Our client, an international law firm, seeks a Project Manager for their New York office. The Project Manager will be responsible for consulting with legal teams to develop case-specific strategies throughout the discovery process, as well as manage, support, and validate electronic processing, load file and data manipulation, data loading into review platforms, and document productions. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge using software applications such as Relativity, Ipro and LAW. Experience with Microsoft Access Visual Basic module coding experience is a plus!   • Consult with legal teams to develop appropriate case-specific strategies throughout the discovery process
  • Manage, support, and validate electronic processing, load file & data manipulation, data loading into review platforms, and document productions
  • Document the entire discovery process using the department’s project-management software application
  • Prepare third party RFPs, develop & maintain project-level budgets, and attain necessary signatures to submit invoices
  • Negotiate, review, compare, and present third-party proposals to legal teams
  • Ensure third-party vendors conform to all firm guidelines, protocols, and best practices
  • Accurately interpret and understand case-team needs, while setting appropriate expectations and communicating risk factors
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve issues. Escalate unresolved issues to the help desk and/or group managers as appropriate
  • Assist legal teams with various tasks including, but not limited to, searching, data analysis & validation, document coding, privilege logs, and quality-control checks
  • Proactively keep abreast of technology, legal trends, and news as it relates to litigation support / e-discovery through trade magazines, articles, webinars, and conferences
  • Enter time entries for all billable and non-billable time, in accordance with firm protocol
  • Train end-users on Practice Support applications



  • Current Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA), or attain certification within six months of employment
  • Exceptional project management skills, including project planning, creating documentation, developing & maintaining project-level budgets, provide on-going consultative support & training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercise good judgment and understand and weigh risk factors associated with requests
  • Ability to learn and independently use new applications
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating as a team
  • Working knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and how stages relate to each other
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, service , and positive attitude toward members of the firm as well as clients and vendors via e-mail, voice, and in-person communications
  • Software Applications (Must have working knowledge, and be able to independently use): Relativity Platform, Case Notebook, Microsoft Excel, UltraEdit / Text Editor, Microsoft Access, Accellion, SharePoint Document Libraries / E-Rooms, LAW, Ipro, Concordance, CaseMap, TimeMap
