ITC Litigation Legal Assistant (LAW FIRM)

Our client, one of the world’s largest Intellectual Property firms, is seeking an ITC Litigation Legal Assistant for their Washington, D.C. office. This role will be responsible for supporting the Litigation Technology & Support department and attorneys by facilitating the completion of projects for cases and maintaining the integrity of the case information. The Legal Assistant will draft and review legal documents, assist with timely closure of cases, and participate in the supervision and training of litigation clerks. The successful candidate will have experience in ITC litigation, case management, and using database tools and technologies. Paralegal certificate preferred. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, work well independently and be able to meet frequent deadlines. Send resumes to [email protected].

Job Duties

  • Maintains correspondence and pleadings, master file index, and/or litigation directory and index and image as appropriate
  • Utilizes litigation software such as Summation and/or Concordance
  • Assists with document productions, including document production at the client’s office, coordinates attorney review for relevant and privileged documents and coordinates efforts with appropriate vendors
  • Maintains deposition files and deposition databases, including the creation of deposition exhibit lists
  • Assists in the preparation of witnesses for depositions
  • Assists with court filings
  • Docket court dates, if appropriate
  • Performs Cite Checks, Shepardizes and Bluebooks briefs, as appropriate to skill level
  • Works overtime and/or travels, if required
  • Assists in all aspects of the preparation for trial and attends trial if needed
  • Completes duties under time constraints
  • Participates in the supervision and training of litigation clerks
  • Performs administrative tasks according to department and firm policies and procedures
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree and a few years of extensive ITC litigation experience, paralegal certificate preferred
  • Experience with case/matter management and/or other database tools and technologies used to manage data and information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, expert research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet and government websites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to deal courteously and efficiently with attorneys, clients, administrative and support staff, as well as outside vendors and professional peers
  • Work well under pressure, meet frequent deadlines and work well independently while taking direction from a departmental team lead
