Forensic Analyst (VENDOR)

Our client, the world’s leading enterprise legal services provider, is seeking a remote Forensic Analyst. This individual will be responsible for conducting onsite and in-lab data collections from a variety of digital evidence for imaging and verification. The Analyst will apply industry accepted principles in retrieving, recovering and preserving digital evidence while providing forensic support to the e-Discovery business. This candidate will be expected to augment and strengthen their forensic skillset to enhance the forensic services offered by the company, which can lead to personal opportunity for advancement within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Applies industry accepted principles in retrieving, recovering and preserving digital evidence
  • Performs administrative tasks as necessary, such as time and expense entry and approval, performance reviews and feedback, career development, etc.
  • Consults with and takes direction from supervisors, engagement managers, and clients regarding project action items
  • Validates collected evidence files/formats and communicates verification summaries
  • Performs collection tracker updates, QC and reports all data collected
  • Provides forensic support help for Discovery business (i.e., copy issues, imaging help, physical drive problems)
  • Maintains and reinstalls asset track lab machines for all Cyber Risk Solutions team members
  • Performs password cracking of common office file types and mobile device backups, metadata cleansing of office and pdf documents, and backs-up logs and stage collected evidence for forensic investigation
  • Performs remote, onsite, or in-lab collections (Full, Targeted, Search at Source) for both our clients and internal investigations and mobile device analysis and reporting for various phone/tablet models such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.
  • Supports forensic examinations with evidence processing and reporting per SOP
  • Provides first layer support for email container repair and conversion
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager
  • Up to 20% travel is expected

Qualifications

  • Have extensive experience in IT/computer programing, with a few years’ experience working specifically on e-discovery related activities
  • Must have advanced Windows and Mac/Linux knowledge, server operating system experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, Windows Server, MS Active Directory and MS Exchange is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of encryption, both hardware and software
  • Experience in the use of computer forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK Imager, MacQuisition, Paladin, Harvester, TX1 Imagers)
  • Mobile device collection and reporting experience preferred (e.g. Cellebrite)
  • Ability to work off hours and travel both domestically and internationally on short notice
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently and communicate effectively both verbally and in
  • Skillful at analysis and troubleshooting of related systems components
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives
  • Ability to develop and follow standard processes and complete documentation as needed
  • College degree in the field of Computer Science, Programming, Network Engineering or related field
