Practice Support Specialist (LAW FIRM)

Our client, a top-tier law firm headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Practice Support Specialist. This individual will be responsible for the collection and processing of data for litigation, corporate, ethics, and regulatory matters. As a member of the Practice Support group, this individual will contribute to document processing and information governance standards, while working to mitigate risk and ensure cost savings. Required Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in e-discovery processing work as a paralegal, litigation support professional, IT support professional, or similar role at an e-discovery service provider
  • Extensive experience with processing data in Nuix or ECapture
  • Able to collaborate effectively with multiple team members across various departments
  • Qualified candidates will have experience in using legal processing technologies to process data into formats for database loads.
  • Candidates must be familiar with other litigation and corporate legal technology to properly handle a case or deal from beginning to end.
  • Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems with limited guidance and management
  • Working knowledge, experience or proficiency with e-discovery databases such as Relativity or EclipseSE
  • Working knowledge, experience or proficiency with legal data repositories such as CaseMap, TextMap, and IManage


  • Coordinate and execute activities relating to the identification, preservation and collection of client information
  • Assist Director of Practice Support with Information Governance workflows and standards
  • Handle all firm litigation data processing; setting workflows to develop processing of firm wide litigation data in house
  • SME on projects to upgrade or replace processing technologies
  • Responsible for maintaining auditable reports on client data locations and data processing results
  • Logging and organizing received production and original client media
  • Able to become familiar with forensic collections and best data collection standards
  • Understanding of the EDRM and the IGRM and how they interconnect; knowledge of information governance best practices
  • Adherence to processes and procedures while remaining results oriented and questioning the status quo
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite; able to quickly master new software applications as needed
  • Sound judgment, analytical skills, curiosity and practicality. This includes the ability to see trends and ask questions to predict problems before they come to fruition.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet legal deadlines; adapts well to change
