CONTRACT Senior Forensic Consultant (Vendor)

Our client, a top technology and service provider, is seeking a Senior Forensic Consultant for their New York office. The Senior Forensic Consultant will be responsible for conducting computer forensic and e-discovery data collection and processing for client engagements, as well as forensic analysis of computers and other digital devices and data sources. This role will help to provide in-house counsel and their outside law firms an enterprise-wide discovery management process with services that mitigate risk, control costs, and allow you access to critical information, anytime, anywhere. Significant experience in a Forensic or IT-related job is required as well as demonstrable experience harvesting data from Laptops, Hard Drive, Office 365, One Drive, SharePoint, Mobile Phone, MS Exchange Server, Lotus Notes, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp). Industry Certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, EnCE and CAN are highly desired. Send resumes to [email protected]

Overall Responsibility:

  • The Senior Forensic Consultant will be responsible for conducting computer forensic and e-discovery data collection and processing for client engagements, as well as forensic analysis of computers and other digital devices and data sources

Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

  • Works in a team environment to assess client's needs and propose full-service solutions to address those needs
  • Advises client and end client on alternative strategies, tools and best practices for ESI collection and forensic analysis
  • Provides on-site and remote installation, configuration and administration of collections tools and processes
  • Works as part of a team on large-scale projects at client sites
  • Deploys network related analysis tools and understand network configurations
  • Conducts forensic collections of electronic evidence, including computer-related equipment, network devices, and information systems
  • Physically disassembles and examines computers and related hardware
  • Performs data extraction from forensic imaging for e-discovery platforms
  • Uses forensic software/hardware applications to analyze electronic media
  • Collects, transports, labels, and secures evidence; prepares written report of forensic examination findings to include procedures used and evidence locations
  • Ensures continuous integrity of collected source data and media
  • Performs fact finding analysis and creates evidence based reporting
  • Handles Project Management on forensic projects

Requirements:

  • Industry Certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, EnCE and CAN
  • Demonstrable experience harvesting data from Laptops, Hard Drive, Office 365, One Drive, SharePoint, Mobile Phone, MS Exchange Server, Lotus Notes, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp)
  • Electronic Evidence Discovery collection and handling
  • Forensic or IT related job experience
  • Advanced understanding of Chain of Custody procedures, forensic lab best practices, and evidence handling and preservation
  • Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Basic understanding of networks, including TCP/IP, and network security concepts
  • Must be able to troubleshoot complex PC configurations
  • Operating system knowledge in the areas of Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/8/10. UNIX/Linux and Macintosh skills are a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify problems and bring them to the manager’s attention immediately
  • Ability to explain technical information using layman’s terms
  • Availability for extensive travel;  some travel on short notice
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a US Government Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience installing software in enterprise LAN/WAN environments
  • Previous experience serving in a Network Administrator capacity
  • Previous experience installing software in enterprise LAN/WAN environments
  • Foreign Language Skill is a big plus
  • Experience with encryption and decryption tools and techniques
