Our client is seeking an e-Discovery Project Coordinator for their New York office. The e-Discovery Project Coordinator is responsible for providing e-discovery data management services and hands-on e-discovery technical and project support for case teams and e-discovery team personnel. The Coordinator works closely with e-discovery project managers, staff attorneys and case teams on all aspects of the electronic discovery process, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review and production of electronically stored information (ESI) and paper records converted to ESI. The Coordinator provides substantive technical guidance and training to attorneys, paralegals and staff throughout all Firm offices. Must have data processing and management experience in a law firm or e-discovery vendor. Ideal candidates will have related e-discovery certifications and experience with litigation support applications such as LAW PreDiscovery, Relativity, Case Notebook, TrialDirector, Sanction, and Nuix. Send resumes to [email protected].


  • Understands and implements best practices for the handling of electronically stored information (ESI) throughout the e-discovery (EDRM) lifecycle
  • Understands litigation processes and the operational, technical and legal processes applicable to discovery
  • Consults with e-discovery colleagues and case teams to manage, plan and execute e-discovery projects, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of ESI and paper documents
  • Prepares project specifications to facilitate the e-discovery process and attends, documents and reports on internal and/or vendor meetings
  • Manages ESI and paper evidence in all phases of a litigation matter
  • Performs case intake and documentation
  • Performs data intake, maintaining chain of custody documentation and following established data storage procedures
  • Performs client and firm data imports, automated batch imports, transcript and other data export, and data transfer between litigation systems
  • Creates ands support database/project structure for all e-discovery and practice support services
  • Performs data management tasks (loading images to the network, burning CDs/DVDs, loading data into database applications, conducting search queries, and preparing reports for case teams and e-discovery team members)
  • Performs ESI processing and validation in accordance with project specifications
  • Assures quality control of data and image collections through running validation and quality control (QC) checks
  • Maintains integrity of database contents and structure
  • Creates network storage folders as requested and supports Firm data disposition and deletion initiatives
  • Prepares document productions (image, native format, hard copy) according to required specifications
  • Helps advise case teams on the data processing and production options best suited for their needs
  • Performs imaging (tiff, PDF), native file printing, TIFF blowback, data manipulation and other assigned data tasks
  • Manages the secure and stable transfer of client data, and creates master versions of CD/DVD-ROMs and external drives for required deliverables
  • Ensures the quality control testing of deliverables to confirm that they are sound
  • Troubleshoots software/hardware-related problems
  • Constructs and runs complex database queries, sample search results, and reports to e-discovery and case team colleagues on the results and potential query improvements
  • Prepares, sorts, batches and/or prints search results for review and production
  • Helps set up document review and data workflows according to case team and e-discovery team specifications
  • Constructs and runs statistical sample queries
  • Generates and effectively formats reports and privilege logs
  • Tracks the completion and quality control of scanning, OCR, coding, conversion and production of data
  • Tracks case team review progress and provides technical training, assistance, and support
  • Completes and records case management documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Engages in continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Engages in continuous learning initiatives to remain informed and knowledgeable about e-discovery and litigation support processes and best practices
  • Complies with the Firm’s information security policies to ensure client and Firm assets are protected from potential threat and/or loss


  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant e-discovery certifications preferred
  • Data processing and management experience in a law firm or e-discovery vendor
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise status reports to stakeholders, explaining technical issues and options accurately and in a manner that can be readily understood by colleagues and clients
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new applications and processes
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to identify non-standard requests and formulate sound action plans while adhering to eDiscovery best practices
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and be an integral part of a supportive team environment
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, initiative, and ownership
  • Knowledge of litigation support applications, such as LAW PreDiscovery, Relativity, Case Notebook, Trial Director, Sanction, and Nuix, strongly preferred
  • In depth knowledge of various load file and image formats commonly used in the industry, and ability to validate, create and convert such files
  • SQL, Visual Basic/VBSCRIPT, Oracle, XML, DOS, Python, JAVA/JavaScript experience a plus
  • Familiarity with productivity tools used for file transfers (FTP), file compression (RAR and ZIP) and encryption methods
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, as needed, to meet project deadlines and or provide support coverage to meet departmental needs (e.g., after hours and/or weekend shifts and/or on-call rotation)
