Our client, an Am Law 100 international firm, is seeing a Cybersecurity, Privacy & Data Protection Associate to join its Brussels office. This integrated global practice specializes in advising clients in any business sector on the wide array of legal issues, regulations, contract negotiations, and contentious matters created by global concerns about cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection. This group focuses primarily on European Union and global data protection compliance projects and excels in both national and cross-border matters. Candidates must have experience in an international law firm and extensive subject matter expertise in privacy and cybersecurity. Primary responsibilities include a variety of advisory work in complex representations covering all privacy and data protection activities. These range from developing and implementing data protection compliance programs, particularly with regard to the GDPR, to advising on data breach preparedness and data security breaches. Must have superior academic credentials and excellent command of both written and spoken English. Qualifications: 

  • Possesses relevant experience in an international law firm 
  • Focuses primarily on EU wide and global data protection compliance projects, and also excels in both national and cross-border matters
  • Will be part of an experienced and integrated global practice, advising clients in any business sector on the wide array of legal issues, regulations, contract negotiations, and contentious matters created by global concerns about cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection
  • Primary responsibilities include a variety of advisory work in complex representations covering all privacy and data protection activities
  • Duties will range from developing and implementing data protection compliance programs, particularly with regard to the GDPR, to advising on data breach preparedness and data security breaches
  • Must have superior academic credentials, ideally including an LL.M.   
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English 
  • Candidate should be a solution oriented, committed, and enthusiastic team player, with strong organizational, writing, and oral communication skills
