Our client, one of the world's largest information solutions companies, is seeking a contract to hire Director of Data Privacy. The Director provides privacy support and subject matter expertise on privacy, data protection, and data governance issues as they relate to the evaluation of new business initiatives, processes, and applications. Must be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges as the team continues to embed Data Privacy and Data Protection principles across the enterprise. The Director will play a vital role in redesigning, building out the tools and workflow, writing business requirements, and ongoing monitoring of the Privacy Impact Assessment program across the company. This position requires data privacy or data protection experience, preferably in the financial services industry, and an in-depth understanding of privacy policies, principles, and technologies as well as familiarity with privacy control frameworks. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of privacy laws, specifically GDPR and CCPA. This role is contract and will convert to permanent after 90 days of employment. Job Responsibilities 

  • Works closely with enterprise and business unit stakeholders to embed privacy by design principles into enterprise business plans and strategic initiatives during the design and execution process
  • Supports the implementation of a global privacy controls framework and monitors and tests those controls
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of policies, standards and procedures that support global privacy program objectives
  • Works with management to identify privacy risks, trends, and vulnerabilities and researches solutions for risk mitigation
  • Conducts privacy impact and control assessments on applications, products, and processes to evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, and internal standards
  • Monitors and tracks global privacy and data protection regulatory frameworks and updates control frameworks where necessary
  • Contributes to and supports privacy training and awareness materials, including conducting privacy-specific training
  • Researches and responds to privacy-related questions from business units, customers, or regulatory agencies
  • Manages program metrics and reporting which includes reports and readouts to Senior Leadership

Skills/Experience 

  • Data privacy or data protection experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • In-depth understanding of privacy policies, principles, and technologies as well as familiarity with privacy control frameworks
  • Ability to build rapport with business units to identify privacy risks/trends and stay abreast of new products/initiatives
  • Experience interpreting privacy regulations
  • Experience or familiarity with conducting privacy risk assessments in diverse operational environments
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners, with focus on informing, influencing and building relationships
