Digital Forensics Analyst (CONSULTANCY)

Our client, a global consulting firm, is seeking a Digital Forensics Analyst to work in their Paris office. The Digital Forensics Analyst will assist in performing on-site data collections and forensics acquisitions using various hardware and software tools for international clients. The Analyst should understand various file systems (FAT, NTFS, EXT2/3, HFS+), Windows and Non-Windows OS (Linux, UNIX, Mac OS) and network/internet technology (HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP). The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of laptop, desktop, and server computer hardware as well as advanced understanding of Chain of Custody procedures, forensic lab best practices, and evidence handling. Experience and vendor certification with commercial computer forensic tools (EnCase, FTK, or similar) is a must. Proficiency in French is required. Send resumes to [email protected].

The Digital Forensics Analyst will assist in performing on-site data collections and forensics acquisitions using various hardware and software tools for clients around the world.

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs Laptop and desktop imaging
  • Collects data from enterprise file servers, email, and database systems
  • Provides Chain of Custody documentation and forensic case procedures in written reports
  • Maintains client relationships
  • Performs onsite data captures
  • Handles data recovery
  • Performs forensic analysis
  • Handles documentation and report writing as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Possesses strong customer orientation
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be a team player and have a strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Experience and vendor certification with commercial computer forensic tools (EnCase, FTK, etc.)
  • Experience/training with Mobile/Cellular forensic tools (Paraben, Access Data MPA, Oxygen, etc.)

Understanding of the following:

  • Various file systems (FAT, NTFS, EXT2/3, HFS+)
  • Windows and Non-Windows OS (Linux, UNIX, Mac OS)
  • Network/internet technology (HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of both laptop, desktop, and server computer hardware
  • Advanced understanding of Chain of Custody procedures, forensic lab best practices, and evidence handling
  • E-discovery software and enterprise systems (including Email, File Server and Database)
  • Ability to independently conduct comprehensive analysis of computer equipment and data storage devices
  • Knowledge of computer science and laws related to computer evidence recovery as well as procedures for the collection, preservation and presentation of computer evidence
  • Skilled in the application of computer science to recover data which has been deleted/erased, fragmented, hidden, or encrypted from data storage devices
  • Hands on collection experience relating but not limited the following: Laptops / Desktops / File Servers / Hand held devices
  • Have valid passport and availability for both domestic and international travel (up to 50%) with some travel on short notice
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or relevant experience
  • Experience managing and implementing computer forensics technologies in a consulting or legal services environment
