CONTRACT e-Discovery and Forensics Manager (CORPORATION)

Our client, a major corporation with offices in New Jersey, seeks a contract e-Discovery and Forensic Manager. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of forensic collection, legal hold order, and vendor management experience. This contract requires plug-and-play skills in FTK for on-perm collection work. This is not a people management role, but rather a process management role for the in-house general counsel's office. Deep forensic proficiency coupled with the ability to manage and execute tasks autonomously and in collaboration with IT is critical. This role has the opportunity to transition into a full-time role for the unique individual who can help the corporation innovate how they approach their e-discovery. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison with the legal team and management on status of identifying source data, collections, processing, review and productions of data; tracking of deadlines, exceptions and tasks; to also include ESI management issues, budget status, and production planning
  • Interface with e-discovery vendors and in-house resources performing preservation, collections, processing, and/or hosting services
  • Create/Maintain/Revise Electronic Data Discovery ("EDD") and ESI preservation policies
  • Advise legal team on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs including but not limited to recommendations for products to perform early case assessment, document search, document reviews, and productions in the most efficient, timely, and cost effective manner
  • Ensure standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life cycle of the case
  • Ensure data that is subject to local rules and agreed upon processes are managed appropriately
  • Monitor and respond to changes to discovery regulations and emerging electronic discovery litigation support technology and processes
  • Participate in Rule 26(f) conferences as e-discovery liaison, as required/requested by counsel
  • Ensure quality of imported and exported ESI
  • Coordinate technical/data processing support, and obtaining other required resources
  • Manage the electronic data that is sought, located, secured, and searched for with the intent of using as evidence in a civil or criminal legal case
  • Oversee the creation of statistical reports providing information on collection, filtering, processing, review and productions


  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience in managing e-discovery projects or relevant field (i.e. experience in the areas of computer forensics, IT security, technical documentation)
  • Juris Doctor or Litigation-Support practice experience preferred
  • Certification in e-discovery program is preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the e-discovery process at each stage of its lifecycle, including evolving standards created through case law, rules, and industry trends, and of e-discovery/litigation support services and technologies

Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience with at least one of the following; Legal Hold Pro, Exterro, Clearwell, Summation, Concordance, Relativity or other e Discovery platform software
  • Demonstrated experience with email investigations and retrieval processes
  • Team player, with strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client service orientation
  • Skilled at meeting strict deadlines under significant time constraints
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to the highest quality service to internal and external customers
