TRU partners with industry-leading organizations and the greater privacy, ediscovery, and cybersecurity communities to award scholarships to deserving individuals looking to level up their skills and careers.

About TRU Scholarships
The TRU Scholarship program was established in 2011 to foster training and education in privacy, ediscovery, and cybersecurity. Finalists are anonymously determined by a rotating Advisory Board of thought leaders and industry hiring managers.
TRU's 2023 portfolio of partners and their certification, training, and education will delve into diverse areas of discipline including mobile forensic collection, advanced data analytics, legal project management, processing and hosting of litigation data, cyber incident response and remediation, privacy law and program building, technical ediscovery attorney review expertise, and more.

Scholarship Options
Association of eDiscovery Professionals (ACEDS)
ACEDS, the Association of Certified Ediscovery Specialists, a BARBRI professional association, is the member organization for professionals in the private and public sectors who work in the field of ediscovery. ACEDS is building a community of ediscovery specialists for the exchange of ideas, guidance, training and best practices, and offers ediscovery certification. ACEDS has established the field's first certification exam, a 145-question multiple choice exam that covers 15 ediscovery fields. This year's Scholarship Program includes:

- One U.S. Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS/US) standard package scholarship for a U.S.-based resident, including live training, study manual, membership to ACEDS, and certification exam with one free retake. Requires some hands-on field experience in any role, including Sales, project managers, litigation support, attorneys, paralegals, forensics, or information governance. Live training is delivered online and the exam is available year round at over 1100 ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers worldwide.
- One Canada Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS/Canada) standard package scholarship for a Canadian-based resident, including live training, study manual, membership to ACEDS, and certification exam with one free retake. Requires some hands-on field experience in any role, including Sales, project managers, litigation support, attorneys, paralegals, forensics, or information governance. Live training is delivered online and the exam is available year round at dozens of ACEDS-Kryterion Testing Centers across Canada.
- Two ACEDS full eDEx, eDiscovery Executive Certificate Programs, a 12+ hour interactive online training course. The perfect candidate for the eDEx certificate is someone who has zero or a little e-discovery experience and would like to have foundational e-discovery training to better understand the e-discovery process and importance. Candidates would be attorneys, paralegals, IT, security, or Sales people who are new to e-discovery or candidates working in information governance or privacy.

(IAPP) International Association of Privacy Professionals
The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is a resource for professionals who want to develop and advance their careers by helping their organizations successfully manage risks and protect their data. This year's scholarship program includes one full scholarship for one the following:
- CIPP Self-paced Online Training Bundle - The Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) helps organizations around the world bolster compliance and risk mitigation practices, and arms practitioners with the insight needed to add more value to their businesses.
- CIPM Self-paced Online Training Bundle - The Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) designation says that you’re a leader in privacy program administration and that you've got the goods to establish, maintain and manage a privacy program across all stages of its life cycle.
- Or CIPT Self-paced Online Training Bundle – Your Certified Information Privacy Technologies (CIPT) certification validates your deep understanding of privacy in technology and enables you to apply what you have learned immediately to your daily workflow as a technology and data professional. Achieving certification validates your dual literacy in privacy and technology that translates around the globe.

iCONECT
iCONECT is an industry leader in developing innovative legal review software and services that empower legal teams to complete complex review projects more cost-effectively. iCONECT raises the bar for advancements in developing intelligent, easy-to-use tools that help hosting providers, law firms, corporations and government agencies worldwide optimize workflows and manage big data more efficiently. This year's scholarship program includes four full scholarships that each contain both of the following:
- iCONECT Project Manager Certification. A prerequisite for this course is completion of the complimentary, online user training.
- iCONECT Advanced Analytics and Analytic Statistics.

Nuix
Nuix provides full-scale solutions for Compliance and Threat Prevention, time sensitive Discovery and Investigation, and Enterprise Big Data. This year's scholarship program includes:
- One full scholarship for Nuix Workstation Data Discovery Core, a one-day introductory certification training for students new to Nuix Workstation that teaches foundational knowledge including creating cases, data processing, searching and reviewing, and Nuix Workstation Data Discovery Specialist, a two-day hands-on certification course focusing on case data processing, ECA, deduplication, searching and analysis, email threading, production sets, and exports which will show you the practical steps of determining relevancy of collected information
- One full scholarship for Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Core, a one-day certification class designed for investigators in both the public and private sector new to Nuix Workstation, and Nuix Workstation Forensic Practitioner Foundations, a two-day certification intended for the agent or analyst tasked with the day-to-day responsibilities of analyzing disparate types of electronic evidence, ideal for those responsible for digital investigations in both law enforcement and/or corporate environments.
- One full scholarship for Nuix Discover End User, a one-day introductory certification class that teaches students new to Nuix Discover review and searching, review setup, coding documents and printing and reporting. Designed for the reviewer, paralegal, case management and litigation staff who are new to Nuix Discover.

OpenText provides a complete and integrated Information Management platform, allowing companies to organize, integrate and protect data and content as it flows through business processes inside and outside the organization, including market-leading applications for endpoint data security and Digital Investigations with the EnCase suite of software. This year's scholarship program includes::
- Two full scholarships to attend the 2023 OpenText World and Enterprise Conference from October 10 – 12 in Las Vegas, NV. This is ideal for someone seeking to get into the Digital Forensic/Incident Response/Cybersecurity field.

Paraben Corporation
Paraben Corporation is an investigative technology company providing software for mobile forensics and computer forensics. Paraben's E3 Platform is a Universal platform for all types of data associated with digital forensics, including computers, email, smartphones, and IoT devices. This year's scholarship program includes:
- Two full scholarships for E3 Mobile Fast Track with a E3:DS Software license. This is a beginner level course, where the ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of digital forensics.

DISCO
DISCO brings artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics to the practice of law to let lawyers spend their time doing what matters most: securing justice for their clients and winning the most important disputes in the world. This year's scholarship program includes 5 number of access to DISCO University software:

Relativity
Relativity software has more than 150,000 active users in more than 40 countries from organizations including the U.S. Department of Justice and more than 195 of the Am Law 200. Relativity helps corporations, law firms, and government agencies meet ediscovery challenges with a complete set of flexible tools and on-demand solutions to tackle every phase of a project. This year's scholarship program includes six full scholarships:
- Two Relativity Scholarships for Beginners: All-Access pass to Relativity Fest; Training Session "Relativity 101: Relativity for End Users;" one complimentary Review Management Specialist exam or a Relativity Pro exam (RelativityOne Certified Pro, RelativityOne Review Pro, or Relativity Certified Sales Pro). This scholarship targets individuals who might be new to the industry, might be an end user of the software, or might not yet use Relativity. Roles of this person might include student, recent grad, contract attorney, or lit support professional. This recipient likely doesn't have any Relativity Certifications yet and the Relativity Certified User aligns to the role they have, want or acts as a stepping stone to another role.
- Four Relativity Scholarships for Intermediates: All-Access pass to Relativity Fest; Training Session "Relativity Admin Essentials I: Fundamentals of Case Administration Training;" One complimentary RCA (Relativity Certified Administrator) exam, Specialist Exam, or Relativity Pro exam (RelativityOne Certified Pro, RelativityOne Review Pro, or Relativity Certified Sales Pro). This scholarship targets individuals that might need to refresh their Relativity admin skills as they might be new to the industry, new to using Relativity, or new to their role. Most common roles of this person might include: contract attorney, lit support professional, or project manager. An RCA is not required, but some Relativity experience is useful before attending this course.

Reveal Brainspace
Reveal, now one company with Brainspace, believes the future of ediscovery and investigations is artificial intelligence. This year's Scholarship Program includes:
- Ten full course enrollments for the Reveal Review Certification course, a 1.5 – 2-hour online course that delivers the fundamentals of document review in Reveal. The course is targeted at attorneys, consultants, and litigation support personnel seeking skills in searching, batch management, document coding, and leveraging AI features to review more complex data types.
- Ten full course enrollments for the Reveal AI Certification course, a 2.5 – 3-hour course that includes an overview of AI and the various types of artificial intelligence being used within ediscovery before training on Reveal’s Search Intent AI, data visualizations, and more.
